Throwing an Epic Birthday Party on a Budget

Throwing an Epic Birthday Party on a Budget

As a mom you want to make your child’s birthday party as special as possible, but throwing a party can get kind of pricey.  You want to throw the best party possible but you don’t want to break your bank account at the same time.  Here are some tips on throwing an epic birthday party on a budget that kids will love.

Bigger Isn’t Always Better

First of all you don’t need to invite every kid in a 20 mile radius to make sure that the birthday party is a hit.  In fact that is probably far less fun than you want it to be.  Your child can have a great time with 5-10 friends that they play with on a regular basis.  If your kids are really young then you can expect parents to tag along so it is a lot easier to feed and entertain a smaller group than a larger one.

Pick a Theme

Having a theme is a quick and easy way to add some panache to the party without spending money.  Not only that kids love dressing up, whether it is in superhero costumes or the paw patrol they will have a blast.  Ask them what theme they would like or you can check out what cartoons they love to watch on TV for some inspiration.  Make sure that the invitations all indicate that this is a theme party and costumes are recommended.

Cut the Catering Costs

Food and drink are usually the most expensive part of any party, but these are kids they don’t expect 5 star dining.  Kids want a sugar filled afternoon so simple finger food, cupcakes and of course you want a cake.  If baking is your thing then you can make cookies and cupcakes yourself and not only will they be a hit but your house will smell divine.

Get the Glue Gun Out

Decorating can cost a fortune especially when you are working with a theme.  This is another way to save a ton of money, you can grab things like ribbons and craft paper at the dollar store, head on over to YouTube and find out how to decorate.  You can use what you have on hand to decorate your home.  You can even make hats!

Think about what you like at a party, good friends and some fun.  Kids are no different, they want to play games and have had some great tasting snacks.  Kids like cookies, candies and cake!
